Update the GSD Board and Superintendency on the progress of major construction projects overseen by the Architecture, Engineering & Construction Department on behalf of Granite School District.
Security Upgrades
Robert Frost Elementary: Security Remodel / Addition
Project is 100% complete.
Security remodel added approximately 700 square feet to the front of the school.
Interior was updated so patrons enter the front office to be checked in before gaining access to the building.
A new principal’s office and a new conference room were created.
Upgraded the fire alarm system.
West Valley Elementary: Security Remodel
Project is 75% complete.
Anticipated completion 10/16/2021.
Exterior work and landscaping complete.
Interior equipment and furnishings in place.
Final inspections pending.

Building is 100% complete.

Infrastructure Replacement
Cottonwood High School: Track Reconstruction
Project is 85% complete.
Estimated finish date is 10/23/2021.
Asphalt and track surface have been replaced.
Drainage issues have been resolved.
Overgrowth has been removed.
New landscaping of curbing, rock, trees, irrigation, and fescue grass is in progress.
Thomas Jefferson Junior High School: Chiller Upgrade
Project is 99% complete.
Punchlist items are in review.
Old cooling towers have been replaced with a 2 story enclosed structure containing the new chiller pumps, and cooling tower.
School logo plaque still to be added to face of building.

Skyline High School: Athletics Complex
Athletics phase is 60% complete.
Baseball diamond and football stadium are complete.
Interior painting is in progress.
Excavation for the pool is scheduled to begin in October.
Grading is underway for the athletic fields.
Cyprus High School: Site Preparation
Site preparation is 100% complete.
Mass grading has been completed.
Kennecott site storm water drainage redirection project is completed.
Cyprus High School: Building Construction
Purchase order was issued to Westland Construction for construction of the new Cyprus High School.
Notice to proceed issued 09/13/2021.
Excavation of footings has begun.
West Lake STEM Junior High School: Abatement / Demolition
Building abatement is 100% complete.
Demolition is at 40%, with completion scheduled for mid November.
Classroom wings have been demolished and debris hauled away.
Demolition of the auditorium and gymnasium is on going.
West Lake STEM Junior High School: Replacement
Estimated project completion is 2024.
Design is in process with bidding in December 2021.
New West Lake is based on existing Utah middle school buildings using 21 st century design with flexibility to support current and future learning activities.
